Need advice on replacing TT tires
We have a 2011 trailer and today I was getting it ready for the season and OMG, the tires show way more cracks than I expected or am comfortable with.
What are good brands and what should I avoid?

I'm replacing mine with what I'm taking off, 225-75-15 R LR D Good Year Marathons, even tho' they look perfectly good, they are 6 yrs old (5 yrs mounted).

I have heard very good things about the Maxxis tires.
After all the horror storys about the Trail Express tires, which I assume came on you Grey Wolf, stay far away from them. I may end up replacing the Trail Express's on our camper yet this spring, even though the tires are only 2 years old.

Prof - you didn't mention what size tires you need. You have many more, and better choices with the 15" than with 14"....

They should be 205/75/14, at least thats whats on my Grey Wolf and from what I can remember all models have the same size tires.

I just put the maxxis m8008 tires on my toy hauler. I had the trail America on and they were only ran for one season almost 2000 miles and two of the tires were beginning to separate. I am so lucky something didn't happen sooner. I went up one load range to a D and there absolutely no comparison with the two. The maxxis seem to be a great tire. My decision was based off what I read on here and other reviews around the Internet. Good luck.

14" C rated which should be plenty load wise. We've never gone farther than 75 miles in a trip. Might now that we have a new TV. TT will be getting weighed next month but is likely around 6500lb at most (5563 sticker on door) and 4 C tires added up are a touch over 7000 lbs.
Will depend on price or availability as much as anything else.
I just want tires that won't dry rot every 2 years as its inconvenient and expensive.

For those of us with the 14" wheels, our choices are very limited. After doing a lot of reading and asking lots of questions, I went with the Kumho's. Very happy with them thus far.

Is it worth going to 15" wheels? Found a place on line that sells wheels/tires complete - more money of course and shipping may be painful... just wondering?

IMO, not worth the money since you can get a good quality tire with enough load rating in 14". So by going to 15" you really wouldn't be gaining anything.

I didn't have clearance between the wheels or between the wheel and the well to upsize to 15". The Kuhmo's gave the load range D and the speed rating that I was looking for.

I have the original radial trails on my trailer going on the 7th season and I don't have any noticeable dry rotting. When is the standard replacement cycle on trailer tires anyway? I don't put a whole lot of road time on my popup trailer and the tires still have plenty of tread on them. I figured by now I would be replacing due to dry rotting but these tires are still looking really good.

When we had our Grey wolf I upgraded to 15" and load range d Maxxis. One poster said it doesn't get you anything. I disagree. You get a bigger safety margin and a lot less stress while traveling.
You can't go wrong with Maxxis or Kuhmo.
Safe travels!

Although tire quality probably has a lot to do with dry rotting, using tire covers helps a lot with that also. We use our tire covers at all times, other than camping, seems to help tremendously.

I just installed a set of Westlake on my Surveyor ultra lite that weighs about 6500lbs loaded. My tire guy is also a trusted friend and said the Westlake are very similar to the Maxxis but about $150 less per set installed. So far i'm very happy with them and they were only $355 installed. My tire size is 205/75/R14. Load Range C.

It is recommended to replace trailer tires every 5 years regardless of miles or how they look.
