Here is his answer. Note, I have the Joy Rider System with shocks installed.
This video was done in Oct. 2015. At that time we were saying what Titan was telling us. The caliper should be the same direction.
In November 2015 Dexter Axle bought Titan Brake Systems and has been integrated into the Dexter family.
About a year ago I had a discussion with Dexter engineers about this because on some axles the bracket can only be mounted in one direction that forces the calipers to be mounted in opposite directions. There are other trailers like the Landmarks that come with shock absorbers and the shock mounts interfere with mounting the calipers the same direction. Dexter says it makes no difference in the direction the caliper is mounted.
In fact the new Landmarks that have original equipment Dexter disc brakes are mounted in opposite directions because of the shock mounts.
Titan’s old documentation is being updated by Dexter and this is one of several changes they are making.

All I can say is WOW! What an impressive increase in braking performance with the new disk brakes. Yes, the drum brakes did stop the 5th wheel but I always had the feeling I was on the edge of their capacity. With the disks braking is positive and they have a very solid feel and they give the confidence that stopping the 5er is not taxing them at all. I strongly recommend them.

I called the man and he told they would be back in NC in May. I have to call him back and set up a appointment. This is probably going to be my last camper, I like the 36CKTS but DW wants to keep the camper and truck that we have now. But the disc brakes seem the way to go. The price is not cheap but I know I can not install the brakes.

The installer is supposed to be here Wednesday morning. I'm going on a little 3 day trip two days later. I get to try the brakes out going through Wilmington NC.

I ordered all the components to install Kodiak disk hubs on the Silverback 29RE along with the BrakeRight EHB actuator and a steel tubing kit. Ordered from Eastern Marine who had the best prices. Total cost for everything was just a tad over $1300. Supposed to arrive today. Looking forward to getting started. The only part of the install that will be challenging is routing the tubing, but I'm looking forward to it. Should be fun.

On my CC I installed the calipers (all to the rear). This may be why I ended up making a trip to the auto parts store to pick up a couple short pieces of tubing. I was contemplating adding shocks but it sounds like the calipers may not allow this....hum.
I have yet to hear regrets from someone who added disc brakes.

The wheels will bolt right up and be in the same position they were when bolted to the drum brake hub.
Contact Ron at Performance trailer brakes to get an answer to the torflex axle question. My guess is that that will.

He said he would have to check with the folks that make the axle as they had no listing for 4000# axles. Later RJD

3500 lb axles is what I saw.....Mine are listed as 4000.....So I pulled a drum and checked numbers of bearings and backing plate bolt circle
Numbers all good to be able to make swap
