Could also be bearings are loose

Have you checked to make sure the axle nuts are tight enough for no play but loose enough to allow the tire to spin freely

When I first got my 2011 - it had a loose axle - I mainly noticed it when turning a corner

Had to get a new cotter pin cause the one that was there I broke trying to remove to tighten the axle nut.

While your at it - grease them too of you haven't already.

"...put a the new spare on the tv and us the other as a spare."
Sorry. I don't get it. Are you asking about the trailer tires or the tow vehicle tires?

Sorry put the the spare on the TT. Travel trailer tire looks really worn. I thought maybe it wasn't lined up good. My first travel trailer.

Check to be sure the shock absorber isn't rubbing on the back of the tire. Mine was/is rubbing on one tire now. Still working the right fix after changing the axles, the tires, and the rims.

Maybe low air pressure? That will make it heat up and wear faster

How much more hotter ? is it the tire which is hotter or the rim/wheel itself ? Abnormal wear has a lot of reasons as stated above.

Hotter than normal wheel is either a sticking brake, or the other brakes are all not working properly and only the one which heats up is the all the braking for your trailer.

x2

Work the problem simplest (cheapest) to more complex.

Low pressure

Alignment would be next

Next the brakes.

Could be a poor tire - I had a set of cheaper tires that constantly pulled even after aligning them until I rotated them. Then they pulled the other way. If it is pulling that tire may be the source.

That all said, when you get the wheels swapped have the tire guy test drive it - someone with experience will probably pick out the issue pretty quickly.

I changed the tire today. Air pressure was 50 pounds the tire was deformed. Wore real bad in areas. The tire was a lot hotter. So hot did want to leave my hand on the tire. Almost bold in stops on the side tread only on the outside. Priced so new Komho tires. I going to run the spare a litttle while and check for heat. The buy two new ones that are highway rated.

Just my opinion, but replacing the tire is not going to cure the problem. Found this info on "How to read tire wear" that may apply to your situation.
"Cups or scalloped dips appearing around the edge of the tread on one side or the other, almost always indicate worn (sometimes bent) suspension parts. Adjustment of wheel alignment alone will seldom cure the problem. Any worn component that connects the wheel to the car (ball joint, wheel bearing, shock absorber, springs, bushings, etc.) can cause this condition. Occasionally, wheels that are out of balance will wear like this, but wheel imbalance usually shows up as bald spots between the outside edges and center of the tread."
I realize the article says "car" but I think it also applies to a trailer. We had similar problems and had to replace axles and brackets.

If the tire was deformed then that was the cause.

It's still under warranty. If I feel heat in this tire . I will have to take it in for work. I took a long trip to Destin Fl last Christmas. I did know the speed rating was 65. I was doing 70 and 75 most of the way. The tire has looked funny every since.

Measure the diameter of the bad tire and compare to a cool tire. A friend of mine found one of his tires running hot and it was seperating inside. It was larger than the others.
