Ours is the same, especially once it starts to load. Ours is a Lippert. Friends had one installed on theirs and it is much quieter but the buttons have started to not work so they have to play with it to get it to work. I'll find out the brand that they have this weekend when we camp with them again.

Ours is kinda loud also. The LED light quit working during our trip last month, will play with it during our trip in June.

it would help knowing which brand and model you currently have, so we can eliminate that one.

i have an Ultra-Fab 3500 that i got off of Ebay, remanufactured, for around $120 shipped.
it's not very noisy and has worked well for 3 years.

I have a Reese (Ultra Fab lookalike) and it's not too noisy.

But truth be told I so damn proud of it - I don't mind letting my neighbours know I have one...
