Before my last trip i adjusted the trailer brakes and swapped out the Reese Pilot brake controller that was giving us whiplash during slow braking with the Prodigy. I had the Reese controller set at 5.5 volts and would brake the trailer just fine. I install the Prodigy and i had to crank the volts all the way up and put the boost level on 3 just to drag the truck to a stop in about 100 ft from 25 mph. Whats the deal i wonder?
Did you use a plug in harness or a wire in harness when you swapped the controller?
If it's a wire in, check the connections to make sure they're made well.
If that's not the problem, I'd call Tekonsha and see what they say about it.

Yeah I used the adapter to go into the factory plug under the dash. I have been looking online and there are a lot of people complaining about weak braking with the p3. Im returning it and going back with a Reese proportional. My Reese Pilot worked great other than the jerky slow traffic braking. Would almost knock the wind out of us inching up and braking in traffic.
