Severe Duty brake pads

Our TV (2008 Ford Expedition EL) needs new brakes and I see that some brake pads are listed as "severe duty". Is this a gimmick or something worth getting?

Never heard of that by Ford, But my question would be that you could put on a tougher disk break lining but what happens is that your rotors would heat up first and cause them to warp. I think you would be better off using your TT to slow you down. Lippert has come out with a much more aggressive brake shoe. If you break it in correctly it will stop you on a dime or maybe a quarter. But they have to broken in correctly. I can almost guarantee that the delv. did not care about breaking in your shoes. That's just my opinion and I'm not a wrench turner but had new ones installed at goshen last year and what a difference it made. I warped my two front rotors so that I know.
