Thanks Paul M
So I take it the self tapping bolts stay tight. They don't loosen or wallow out the holes. If so sounds like a fairly simple install. I don't have the patience or the mobility I once had due to old father time.

Papa GLS, The bolts are 1/2 inch if my memory serves right. There are four per bracket, I have not seen any signs of failure. Some other post I was looking at when trying to make my choice said the shocks themselves were not the best, but when that time comes I will pick up some new ones locally. It's not like it's on the road every day.

The bolts may be 3/8. The trailer is back at the factory now, otherwise I could take pick for you.

I had my buddy make up lower brackets I designed.I added a 3"riser to lift the trailer and to have a place to weld on fabricated upper brackets. The lower brakets were drilled and tapped for bolts that were put through from the brake shoe side of the brake backing plate.

I just ordered 2 kits from CW and will get to put them on in a week or so. The kits look pretty complete but only time will tell. My last trailer (Fleetwood) came from the factory with them 10 yrs ago.

Will do on the slide out question. I'll be picking the 320RS on Tue. Then off to work on it. Any help on the angle that the shocks should be mounted at. Some seem to be mounted straight up and down and some are at angle. She has 2 axels and our Fleetwood shocks were mounted at an angle. Any help out there?

Main thing is to try to get the shock mounted as close to 90 degrees to the torsion arm when it is in the loaded position. This was not possible on the driver's side on our trailer because of the slide mechanism.

SHOCKS

We currently own a 2011 Crusader 270RET by Prime Time. After our extensive travel to Alaska, noticed the tires wearing funny, was told by another RV old timer that this is caused by not having shocks on the axles. Have checked locally and have been told it is not a big deal to install a set. Anyone else have this mod on there mines as well...
