Sitting Too Long

Hi guys, I've had my trailer sitting on the side of my house for almost two years now. Unfortunately I've let it just sit without going out periodically to turn on the generator, AC, check batteries, etc. My generator won't start. I'm guessing old gas is gummed up in there or something. Does anyone know how to clean/service a basic generator. I bought the trailer new in July of 2007, but have only used it 5 times or so. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan

this first thing you should do is post the year, make and model of your trailer.
also, the brand and model of your generator.
sounds like you may have a toyhauler, since it seems the generator came with the trailer, which ionly happens with toyhaulers.

You're correct! I have a 2008 Fleetwood Redline Toy-hauler. The generator did come with the unit. I'm not sure off hand what make/model it is. I'll check when I get home and post it here. I figured any method by which to clean newer generators would be pretty generic. Thanks for replying so quickly.

some here might be able to help, but Fleetwood is not a Forest River product.
you might find more owners of your brand of toyhauler, on RV.net's Toyhauler forum, since it's not a brand-specific website.

lots of helpful people here, just not sure with model-specific questions.
i do think there's a Fleetwood owner's forum online somewhere, that might be helpful also.
