That's what I said-it's almost as if the trailer twisted but we never hit anything or got hit, we were on a level pad and normal paved roads. This is driving me nuts trying to figure out why and how

Golden gate is great, and only about 10 miles from my house. If you decide to move it, be slow and careful. There is no gaurantee that axles that have moved, won't move again.

just for clarification. Are the axles sitting on springs, or do they appear to be solid, but offset when they get to the drums

If all goes well we will be there two weeks from yesterday -sigh. Thanks for all your help. Wish there was someone on SE aurora who did this kind of work. All the dealerships and parts are in Lakewood and Golden

Solid and offset by the drums-we cannot see springs, leaf springs or anything else-do you want a picture of the belly of the beast?

It sounds like you have torsion spring axles. This would be the case if you don't see springs. My guess would be torsion failure. I think there was an issue with some of these and they were replaced by factory.

From your pictures, it doesn't look like you have springs, but a torsion axle. Whole different ball game.
