steel valve stems for pickup dual rear wheels

I have a 2015 ram 3500 with dual rear wheels. getting to the valve stems is difficult for me. I took it to a tire shop and asked them to put on steel valve stems and valve extensions so I can have access to check tire pressure and add air. when they gave me the truck back they had added steel extensions (a straight one on the inner and a u-shaped one on the outers) over the existing factory rubber valve stems. I asked why they didn't put in steel valve stems and they said they couldn't as the rubber stems are part of the tire pressure monitors and they do not make tire pressure monitors with steel valve stems. I've been to a couple of other places just asking about this and I have received many different answers from rubber stems only, yes they make sensors with steel stems but not for ram, to you'll be just fine with the steel extensions over the oem stems. needless to say I don't know who or what to believe. does anybody out there have any experiences with putting valve extensions on dual rear wheels that have internal tire pressure monitors?

Here's what I found. Your existing sensors would be removed from your old rubber stems and mounted on these metal ones. I checked the application and your truck matched. Check Amazon too by searching the part #.
