The answer to no trailer brakes
Since new I always felt the trailer lacked sufficient braking. It came with 5,200# axle & brake assemblies. Before this summer's trip I asked General RV in Tampa to really check them out. The answer, not working or not well enough. So I upgraded to 7,000# brake assemblies and upgraded the wire from 12 gauge to 10 gauge. This gave me better and self-adjusting linings, a bigger magnet and a good flow of current to the brakes. I dialed the gain down to 7 and now you can feel the brakes not grab but firmly slow down the trailer. Not finished burnishing in the brakes so they should get better after the next 10/20 stops. General RV did a nice, clean job of rewiring, kudos to Rick & Tom.
