Thread hijack didn't work for tire question

I hijacked a previous thread and received no responses so I will try a new thread.

Has anyone heard of or had experience with Omni? I am told it is a rebranded Cooper.

I have had two flats (from perfectly placed nails not tire failure) in the last year and am very close to tire loads so I have decided to replace them. My question is out of the four listed which is the better choice?

Carlisle RH Load range D
Herculese Load range D
Task Master Load range D
Omni Load range E

I've used GY Marathons for 37 yrs without a flat or any other problem. My choice is a LR D GY M with a TST TPMS 507 system.

None of the above! Are these choices that less expensive that you wouldn't look at Marathons or Maxxis?

To be honest these are what was available and on hand without ordering.

I did have one of the locol chain stores recommend against the GY Marathons. He said they had had way too many problems with them.

Why are Maxxis not carried in stock by the larger tire stores? They seem to be the one most chosen. If they are that popular why would the tire stores not carry them?

Costs big dollars to stock tires. Too many problems with GY M?? Probably because they are very popular and as such have more reported problems. Percentage wise, probably all about the same with respect to Maxxis and other popular brands. I have no experience with any you listed, but they are not real popular brands.

Thanks OldCoot, I will probably order the Maxxis or Marathons.

It is pretty amazing how many of the tire sales staff have never had any problems with the item they have at hand.

Have you tried some of the big discount dealers like TireRack if you have the luxury of waiting 1-2 weeks for delivery.

I'm planning on ordering a set of Marathons D's from them and have them delivererd to the campground we're visiting in NH in Sept. Ignoring exchange rate it is $250 less for the set delivered to NH that I'd pay locally in Ontario.

My Maxxis tires ordered from discounttiredirect.com came within 3 or 4 days.

Well, 3 tires did. UPS decided to send that 4th one to someone else....
