Not trying to argue but that cost which is quite low???
Recently checked an independent tire store to price 4 tire balance.
He said $8 per tire.
I said OK-
He said PLUS $8 per wheel for taking them off and on the vehicle.
Now my $32 tire balance is has shot up to $64!!
When I questioned him he said, if I was buying tires the price was $32.
If I just wanted balance but no new tires it was $64 because he would
have to jack the car and remove the lug nuts.
With a tire purchase that was included..... I walked away but he's not
the only guy in town that charges that way.
I can usually go online and find a coupon or tire store special where they
will do 4 and not double charge for wheel removal.

I still don't consider that a "low" price.

Everything is a trade off.
Is the cost/trouble/time worth the gain?? We certainly don't all agree
on this one!

And you think he should remove and replace the tires/wheels for free? $32 is a reasonable charge. So you take them off and deliver to him. Problem solved and you get it done cheap.

Since the original poster had indicated that he had made a decision and will balance the tires, there really isn't any need for further discussion. I'm closing this thread to keep it from turning into an extended debate with no true resolution.
