It's not just Wal-Mart, and probably has the same reasons as why we won't allow customers to jack up their vehicles in our parking lot..........liability.

You want the customers vehicles/trailers "inside" the controlled shop area...and away from the customers, who don't always think about what they are doing. You'd be surprised at how many customers, either try to get into their vehicles while it is up on a lift (very dangerous), or start sticking their hands and heads up underneath to check their brakes and stuff while the tire/wheel is off.

When they do something to knock it off the lift/jacks, and then damage it or hurt themselves, other customers, or your employees..........guess who the lawyers blame every time?

If a business jacks up a customers vehicle or trailer in basically an uncontrolled area (like a parking lot and not inside a service bay), then they are opening themselves up to a big liability suit should something go wrong....no matter who is actually at fault.

If the business didn't actually touch your vehicle/trailer...... or give you the tools, manpower, or express consent to work on it on their premises....then it makes it harder to hang the liability on them.

Wal-mart would really need to put your trailer inside a service bay to safely work on it, and keep all the passerby's away from it while the tire was off...... but then again would need someone experienced to back trailers, which may be harder to find than just a tire technician.

@ WMTire, I figured it was something like that. No big deal as I have the stuff to change tires with me. I wasn't going to say too much as I was 1000 miles from home at 9am on a Sunday. BTW, the other tires are rated at 2540# @ 65psi and are load range D. They were all made on the 1st week of 2003, which most likely makes them original to the 2004 camper. Most likely a change is in order, is there anything wrong with the chinese Goodyear Marathons like the one I got in TN?

That is a mislabeled tire (the Load Range mold plate is wrong), and should be replaced by the manufacturer. The NHTSA will make manufacturers recall tires like this (if they know about it).

What brand is it?

They are General Ameri-Trailer ST. Right now, there are two with the higher rating and one with the lower rating and one new Goodyear Marathon with the correct numbers.
