Tire Monitor High Pressure Setting

What do you set your ST tire high pressure alarm at when cold inflation is 110psi?
My tires go up to 122psi when hot, alarm was at 120psi, thinking about setting at 130psi.

From what I have read on my TST 507 flow through TPMS, the default is 158 degrees. I have also read that 180 - 200 is the temperature where the inside of the tire really begins to degrade and tires fail. I would think that if you changed it to 130 you would be fine. I also have tires that need 110 PSI and they were running at 102 degrees max last weekend and it was 95 degrees outside. I was traveling between 65 and 70 mph on I95 and they stayed at 102 degrees with the max pressure getting up to 122 psi. I also read that you can gain up to 20% psi on a trip. I hope this helps.

Thanks Saus

Yes I have the TST 507 system myself. The pressure was my main concern hitting 122psi. I will keep the temp alarm at 158F and raise the high pressure alarm to 132psi. Thanks for the info.

I think I misunderstood your question at first. The default temp. setting is 158 degrees and the default psi setting is 175 psi. That is when tires begin to fail rapidly. It is normal to gain approx. 20% psi on a trip. Hope that helps.

Got it

LOL, yes, I added psi to the numbers to clarify. But none the less I read between the lines and understood your answer. More info the better in these cases, Thanks Again.

X2 on the 132 psi setting. TST recommends 20% above for the high setting and 10% below for the low setting. This is, of course, 132 psi and 99 psi

Jessy--TST exchanged my 510 for 507 after a list of problems(no charge) dealt with Beverly Stanly, I gave them the Baseline witch is 110PSI and they programmed the sensors 135PSI high and 95PSI low (themselves) no complaints yet, have done 450 miles so far. Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the info. I just received the TST507FT and installed them on my new 5'er. I have had 3 blowouts on my old TT and the price of this alone is worth it to me. For my 5'er I set mine to high 96 and low 72 as my cold tire pressure is 80 psi.
