Tire pressure gauges for trailer

Beeen towing travel trailers for many years without
Any issues.My co-worker asked if I used
Rv tire sensors to monitor air pressure
And tire temp.Never gave it a second thought.
Til now😬Sounds like a good idea,checked on
Line and saw costs from $100 to$300 plus
Any thoughts about this and which one is the
Best for your money😕

TST 507 and Chip gives free extended warranty at https://www.greatrvproducts.com/

I have only had 1 blowout in 40 years of towing... and that was 25 years ago on a boat trailer... much younger and more stupid than I am now...
however I don't want my vacation ruined with a blowout and probable trailer damage towing my RV with a flat for a mile or more before I realize it.

SALE POST from 2 days ago...

I had TireMinder for 7 months. Was not happy with it. Bought the TST 507 Color and it is great. Gave the TireMinder to my cousin.

We just installed an EEZtire sys on our Sunseeker,,,
Have yet to take a trip with it,,, hitting the road next week !!!
Sys seems to work very well,,, we had a hell of time getting sensors & extensions to stop leaking,,, not the sys fault,,, Hubcaps on the Sunseeker in a PITA !!! We found the best for us is the Anti-Theft Sensors,,, with Anti-Theft cap removed !!!
Hope that is not too confusing !!!

I have been happy with my TST 507 with black & white monitor and cap type sensors. I had had one flat with it and it sounded its alarm as advertised but we were stopped at the time so can’t say how it would have performed while in motion. Got it at Great RV Products.

No connection issues? Reading reviews on them that seems to be the only occasional complaint.

I've had both an EZ Tire and the TST. Both do the job. I prefer the TST because the antenna on the monitor is pretty much indestructible. The EZ has a thin wire and less secure mount. I was always worried about damaging the antenna or mount when the display was stored.

I've had my TireMinder for about nine months and first time out it alerted me to a nail in one tire.

I have been using it without the antenna booster, but lately it has been giving me transmission issues, so I guess I will install that booster when I get a chance.

Now, there is more to these than just alerting you to a flat!

A high temp warning could also be an alert to a wheel bearing failure!

And believe me...you don't want one of those!

Been there done that...almost lost the tee shirt in the fire that could have destroyed my RV!

Put Tire Minder A1A system on my dually and 5er trailer last year. Checked trailer tires pressure (80 psi; E load upgraded from factory D at 65 psi) with manual gage vs Tire minder monitor, very close. After 1/2 hour into trip on 90+ degree day alarm went off indicating 92 PSI, I had set alarm at 90 and tire heated up more than I expected. Lowered pressure in tire and was ok after that. Since then and for many reasons, I run my trailer tires at 75 to 77 psi and no more alarm problems. My co-pilot keeps an eye on pressure and temps. Only complaint is separating truck from trailer. RE-programming monitor for trailer disconnect is a PITA. Should be one button step to dis-arm trailer. Oh by the way, repeater is a must for trouble free info. Also, seems true that it takes up to an hour for monitor to recognize no signal i.e. trailer is back at the campground. Still, I find it a "must have" after all the tire trouble we have had and it has warned of at least two low pressure situations that prevented more trailer damage. Can't say which is better , just what I know about Tire minder.

My bad, had a BF. I had a TireTraker - TT 500. Looking at the EZ tire on their website, their antenna does look indestructible.

TST507

I'm running a TST 507 system with the color monitor and the cap style sending units. We're a little over 3000 miles into a 5000 mile, 35 day trip and so far the system has worked well. We've got a 40 ft Cedar Creek and pulling with an F350 SB, so the senders are at least 30 ft from the receiver. The package comes with the repeater antenna, but I've yet to install it. When driving, the system cycles through the tires and you can see the temp and pressure on each. Occasionally, a tire will stop showing up on the monitor but after a few minutes/cycles, it'll pop back on. The repeater would probably fix this but it hasn't been that big of an issue for me yet. I've got Carlyle G rated tires, rated at 110psi max when cold. I start them at 100psi and the most they've gone up to was 111psi while driving across the northern Montana plains. I find it interesting to watch the temp on the tires also. The tires can show up to 10 degrees difference in temp based on the side of the trailer the sun is shinning on. When coming up through South Dakota, there was a strong, cold wind blowing across the highway and the tires on that side of the trailer where 10 degrees colder than the ones on the other side.

Setting up the caps was a little confusing but after figuring it out (and reading the directions ) I got the trailer caps configured. I've got 2 additional caps that I may put on my trailer spare and my truck spare.

Overall, happy with the system.
