Tire Ratings

We pull a Salem Ultra Lite with a older Suburban, which is plenty big enough, but in reading the spec's on our rear TV tires, their weight rating is app. 3,500 lbs each. My concern is the weight I'm carrying on the TV rear axle and hitch, when hooked to the trailer, is 4,000 lbs (verified CAT scales). My question is; can each tire carry 3,500 lbs (combined 7,000) or should I worry about carrying too much weight for these tires?

Your tires can carry 3500 each if they are at the max pressure on the side of the tire. If the pressure in the tire is less then there load capacity goes down. There are charts published by the tire manufactures that will show you how much load the tire can handle at what PSI.

That's what I thought, but not totally for sure. I'll check with the charts for this tire.
Thanks,
Gary
