Tired of Blowouts
Almost all trailer tires are rated for 65 mph, and that seems to mean they blow out at 60 mph on a hot day. Driving 60 on I-40 is a hazard to other vehicles. I upgraded my utility trailer tires to a higher load rating and haven't had an issue since (driving at 75 mph). I finally found some load range D tires for my boat and ordered them from etrailer.com. My boat and trailer are very close to the max on load range C tires, and when they blow they destroy the fender and lights. So, I ordered some Load Range D tires rated for 81 mph. They are Taskmaster ST215/75 R14.
Last weekend I took my second trip in my 2009 Roo 21 SS. I had a blowout driving 65 on the Carlisle tire that came on the trailer. Has anyone else tried these Taskmaster tires? They are 0.7 inches taller, and 0.4 inches wider, so I don't see that as a problem. I'm seriously considering ordering 5 new tires for my Roo.

You like them for your other trailers, so why not buy some for your camper ? You can`t go wrong with etrailer.com

If they are 14", the best i've found is Hankook RA08, 8 ply, load range D, 99 mph, 2100# cap @ 65 psi.. Best deal was from -Busdepot.com.

Albuquerque..... this may say a lot. Hot and dry. Your tires are melting down (imo). I have had 5 blow outs in the 'south'.... when it was very hot and dry. 3 in Texas and 2 in Florida. Get the highest rated tire that you can and keep your speeds moderate as you are over heating your tires. (imo)

Do you remember the minimum posted speed limit? Some of us drive closer to it and save in so many different ways.

"Blowouts" or more accurately Run Low Flex Failures are the result of running at highway speed with substantially under-inflated or even actively leaking tire.
Simply running a properly loaded and inflated tire at 60 on a 110F day will not result in a "Blowout"

No ST tires are rated for 81 or 99 MPH. To quote Wesley from "The Priness Bride:" Anyone who says differently is selling something.

Well I have seen som smaller size St tires from Triangle tire company with a speed symbol of "S" but I certainly would not suggest it a good idea to tow at 112.
I am not selling anything. maybe just a bit more aware of what different labels on tires mean.

Upgraded to Maxxi Tires
I just upgraded my TT tires from Trail Express 225/75R/15 C rated to Maxxi 225/75R/15 E rated with steel stems. The Trail Express tires had only about 1,500 miles on them and look in excellent condition. Did I do the right thing or did I give in to the fear and hype about "China Bombs"? I guess I'll never really know but I do feel we are safer with the new tires.

If you sleep better at night and drive down the road with less worry, it is a good investment. Now you have some spares. I carry two spare tires with me.

I trust you confirmed the location and reason for the air loss that caused the Blowout. If for example if the air leak was caused by a loose bolt in tire valve you could end up with just another failure.
A TPMS should have provided warning of the air loss that resulted in the Run Low Flex Failure of the tire sidewall i.e. the "Blowout"
