That's all any of us can do, just give it our best shot and hope for the best.

Dont forget to change the air in any new tires every 3 months. It goes stale and rots the tires from within. Why take a chance.

Gheesh Kevin, that's a new one on me. With all the vehicles in our family, I'd be making a career of it. But anyways, thanks for the info?

First I heard of this. Do you have a source?

Source: Air Compressor Manufactures Sales Manual.....chapter 4: Selling Ice to Eskimos.

Seriously never heard of this. I can see nitrogen being a plus over compressed air as its inert and would not promote corrosion...but unlike most typical nitrogen blankets used in industry to keep corrosion away on a equipment like a boiler or heat exchanger...a tire is never purged of the atmosphere during mounting.

Has anyone heard of or had experience with Omni? I am told it is a rebranded Cooper.

I have had two flats (from perfectly placed nails not tire failure) in the last year and am very close to tire loads so I have decided to replace them. My question is out of the four listed which is the better choice?

Carlisle RH Load range D
Herculese Load range D
Task Master Load range D
Omni Load range E

According to TIRERACK, GY Marathons are being produced in the PRC.

The Tirerack article is quoted often and while the PRC does manufacture Marathons under contract to Goodyear (Goodyear has in-plant inspectors to ensure their quality), I can only tell you that when I bought my tires they were also being made at the plant in Alabama.

I am unsure how well researched that article was or if it is current. A portion of the plant in Alabama was closed for renovation and for about 18 months they had restricted production. During that time new ST Marathons were only available from the China facility.

That upgrade was finished last year and is running at capacity again. While I suppose it is possible the ST production stayed overseas, I don't see why the plant would ship all their tooling away.

I would contact the Goodyear Gadsden plant directly if I was interested in only a tire made in the USA to see if your size Marathon is available. You might have to special order them to ensure your local Marathon dealer gets the ones from that plant (DoT Code MD). The warehouse most likely will ship whatever is next up in age rotation if you do not.
