That will also depend on the grade of the bolt. i.e. grade 5 vs. grade 8, etc.

You can also calibrate most torque wrenches.

See? Physics can be fun!
And now I have a headache

Most steel wheels torque between 90 and 100
Aluminum 100 to 110

And, better yet for those in the market, it's on sale next weekend for $10.

Be sure to get the 1/2 inch drive. The 3/8 inch will likely max out too early for your RV's lug nuts.

This thread has convinced me to go out and purchase a HF torque wrench. I just hope I can get hold of one of HF's "rare" coupons. With any luck I'll also score a free flashlight or tape measure.

The coupons are in many magazines, NRA rifleman, our electric coop monthly and others. Typically 20% off.
Msg me your address if you can’t find one and I’ll send you one.
I’ve had my hf torque wrench for over 5 years, no problems.

This 200 lb/ft Snap-On torque wrench in my tool box is from the 60's and still maintains calibration. I ALWAYS back off back to less than 10 lbs after using it.

I use my ryobi impact to set torque, I let all nuts get a few clicks then go back one more time around. When I don’t have it available, I get all lug nuts tight then go back hit second time call it good

In case you missed it, the $20 Pittsburg brand from Harbor Freight will be 50% off starting Friday through the weekend.

Yep, I never walk out of there without extra goodies.

Although a lot of suggestions followed on how to find HF coupons, I'm pretty sure CNYCamper has no trouble. "Rare", in quotes, was probably just a bit of humor.

As a retired Home Depot Department Supervisor, I am a big fan of Ryobi tools.

I'm sorry, but that is not what the Impact Driver is designed for. You do not have a clue as to how much torque you have applied!!!

I used to have harbor freight torque wrenches. That is until I was doing suspension work on my car and snapped a fastener. Turns out it was off by over 50%

I threw them all away and bought CDI which are made by snap on. I own 5 different torque wrenches of various sizes and types. For the trailer, I bought a cheaper wrench since lug nuts don't need the exact precision but it's way better than HF.

If you insist on using your impact, get some torque sticks.
