TPMS signal booster

I'm installing a booster because every now and then it drops off, my question is where is the best place on the fifth wheel to put it?

I don't have the repeater but I've seen several posts say they mounted theirs up above the front cargo door or near the pin box overhang.

There's usually 12v close by (inside the cargo bay or at the breakaway switch/7 pin junction box) and it is pretty much out of the way at that location.

Don, I helped a friend install one on his sob. We mounted the unit behind the pin box and tapped power and ground from the trailer plug junction box. The unit is only active when plugged into the truck. Hope this helps.

I have a TST 507 and I mount the monitor as high on the windshield as I can.

TST 507 booster

I just purchased the TST 507 system and mounted the booster in the battery compartment of my 5th wheel. My question is: is there any detriment to leaving the power to the booster on all the time (rather than disconnect each time I set up camp)? I move about every 3-7 days. The booster is directly wired to my 12 volt battery.

i have tiretracker rather than tst but they seems to be similar. I mounted my repeater up in the front generator compartment of the 5th wheel and wired it behind the battery disconnect switch. that way when I put the trailer into storage the repeater does not drain the battery. but when the disconnect switch is on the repeater has 12 volt power. this includes when towing and when camping. so far no issues and I wouldn't expect any. there are many other little electronic boards that receive constant 12 volt power without problems (a/c thermostats, propane and co monitors, refrigerator control boards, level and slide controllers, etc). the rtire monitor repeater board seems to be similar to these.

by the way, the repeater seems to work as I do not recall ever towing without receiving a signal in the truck cab.
