How long has it been (in miles) since you have done a brake adj on the trailer. Worn brake pads will cause the need for an adj of the controller. Once I get to a higher number (RAM integrated controller) say 8.5-9.5 or so, I do a brake adj and then I'm back to 5-6 on the controller. Just a thought.

No I have a 2002....it does not have a factory brake controller. I bought the plug for my truck and plugged directly in...I am running it on b3...guess it's doing what it's suppose to...my iold controller I felt a lot of pull back from the trailer this one doesn't. ...that's what made me post the question

Oh and my unit is a 2013 so no I haven't adjusted the brakes

B3 is the boost level. You still need to set up the voltage that the trailer sees. This is setup buy turning the wheel on the left side of the controller. When you move the leaver on the bottom of the unit all the. Watch to the left the max voltage will show up on the display. This voltage has to be setup for the controller to work right.
