We just purchased a 2015 Wildwood X-lite 262BHXL. The trailer brakes are not functioning when hooked up to my tow rig. If I pull the emergency trailer brake pin the brakes lock up immediately. Where could my issue be? I have hooked up another vehicle that has electric brake wired up and get the same behavior out of the trailer brakes not working.
Of course its sunday and the dealership is closed, I have a camping trip this coming weekend. anything I can do myself to resolve this?
Check for power to the TV's pigtail connector, if no power check TV for popped fuse.
ummm no upon reflection I think it might be a connector wire problem.

If you did not tow with this truck before, there is a fuse required under the hood, usually square box. Check owners manual for location of trailer tow fuse. It's usually a 20-30 amp.
When you pulling breakaway switch, it gets it's power from camper battery
Also, make sure the 7 pin plug is wired correctly
The truck has the stock ford trailer brake setup. adjusting the gain from 6 to 10 gave very minimal change to how the tire reacted with it jacked up and spinning by hand.
I opened the junction box under the frame where the trailer cable runs back to and the trailer brakes connect up. all the wires are crimped by the factory together. everything appears to be connected up correctly.
Have someone hit the brakes and check voltage at the Bargman connector on the TV. Check the use box as mentioned. Many times the TV comes to ready, but the fuse is not installed. Saves the Mfg $1.00
I read an article that said the early ford brake controller would only give a vary small voltage out if the truck was not moving. Some commercial guys were getting tickets for non operating trailer breaks. Not sure if this still applies.
If your brake controller is set to maximum you should see 10 volts and above at connector, make sure engine is running.....(that is what I see on my unit)
its working. apparently like mentioned above the truck needs to be moving for the brake controller to function, although I was able to use the manual slide function on the brake controller and the wheel now stops on a dime when I spin it.
