Trailer brakes

I have a 21ft dual axle tt.
Are there brakes on both axles or just one. How many miles are normal before the shoes need to be replaced?

Should be on both axles, best way is to look behind the tire wires will be seen going to both backing plates.

There is IMHO no normal when it comes to RV's because it depends on how much you travel and how often you use it.

One could go years with short trips or a seasonal site before brake replacement is needed.

Never heard of any tandem axle TT that didn't have brakes on both.

We had a 2010 Wildcat from new, PA has an annual inspection requirement. Had to replace pads in 2015. I'm guessing 30 to 35 thousand miles, over that 5 years that we put on them, not included is what manufacturer or dealer did.
