Geez Louise. After less than an hour plugged into wall adapter, it's charged!

You guys are so much smarter'n me!!!! LOL Thank you for the suggestions.

I will monitor this thing........have about 8 more 'hops' before I get home Mid Sept......but for now, the original problem, and the charging problem, seem fixed!

I'll withhold comment for Mike B. till then......I don't want to send in a working unit for a new one just because he offered. But......for sure the original charging cable and plug are not 'good'.

Keep us in the loop, I completely forgot about the issue on our way down till I saw this post so I didn't test it on the way back home. I doubt we'll take a long enough drive to test it again this year.

I keep my TST on when I’m pulling the camper or not. I have the color monitor and B/W. The color monitor has some good features but I got use to the B/W and I like it best.

I have confirmed that not all cables or power bricks are created equal and none will last for ever.

I have an App on my Android phone "Ampeer" that allowes me to monitor the actual output of various chargers and they are all over the place. Also discovered a couple of low cost cables seemed to be power limited ? so after some testing I got rid of the stuff that didn't actually charge my phone or TPMS monitors or GoPro camera etc.

There is most likely an iPhone App that can do similar.

Color is bigger and a vast improvement over b/w, for us old guys with bad eyes and lots of monitors to.......monitor.

Tireman, interesting. I have no iDust in my i, so I'll look for that app on Play Store! LOL I got braided cables that are seemingly doing the trick way better.......though I have not measured output.

I have 7 hour trip starting tomorrow. I will update sometime after that if it A) stays lit and working and B) stays charged in truck.

Thanks to all.

How does the color handle glare? Does it "wash out" if the sun hits it?
Asking for an old guy with bad eyes....

Um.......yeah, it does, sorta. Not invisible but it does dim when sun hits it just right. I think the correct mount would help, where it's not down low and in the sun at times. And my eyes are terrible.

Thanks! Just curious and I know with "enough sun" everything will be affected! I found that the "sweet spot" with the BW was at the bottom of the windshield at the A pillar. Now I just need to find the sweet spot for the Garmin!

OK, in seriousness.......the issue I have is that I have to have stuff right in front of my eyes......and I have the following to try and see:
Garmin (Ram mount on dashboard)
Scangauge II on left dash
Trax3 gauge on left dash
Phone
TST monitor
Wife's phone
Not to mention the weather display on the main DIC and the small DIC above gears

But this is all child's play. Buddy has a big Volvo monster unit and I sat in it 4 weeks ago, and it has about 15 different computers and monitors and TV's and such. I'd never be able to drive it.
