TWO load rating numbers on the Castle Rocks?

Just bought my Wolf Pup 16BHS a few weeks ago, trying to learn everything I can. My TT has ST205/75-14 D tires. The load rating numbers read 101/105L. Found that L means 65MPH rated, found a 101 load rating is different from 105. (Don't recall exact amounts but 101 was under 2K# (like 18xx) & 105 was like 24xx#. WTH?
Also, cannot find ANY tire pressure to load capacity charts on the these tires. The sellers only list load at maximum pressure.

Don't know for sure on ST tires, but on LT tires, the lower rating is for use in a dually configuration and the higher is for a single rear wheel configuration. This makes sense to me, but may not be entirely accurate for an ST tire.

A higher rating at a lower speed Max's since.
I don't believe the inflation charts very by brand but by size, type and load range. I prefer to stay with the manufacturer chart but have not found differences in spot checks.
Kind of like cars or trailers, they give a size and a pressure. Not a brand.

This item on "load index rating" might help you:

https://www.tiresplus.com/tires/tire...d-index-chart/

I don't understand why they need a load index rating when they can just as easily write the load number on the tire. That's what they did on my Constancy tires. Even told you single vs dually. (Hard to see, but there are two lines of info just above the wheel rim, one for single, one for dual.)

If you read much on here about tires, many people choose to switch out that brand of tires to another brand either Maxxi or Endurance and some up to load range E from D... and read up on checking your wheel bearings for grease before your first long trip...

I think you have the numbers backward. The higher number (105) is used for single tire fitments and the (101) is for dual - side-by-side tire fitments.

However, even thought your ST tires have the load index on their sidewalls, the load index numbers are not the official medium for the tires load capacity. That is the function of the Load Range lettering system used for all ST & LT tires.

Just about all ST tires now imported from china MUST have a speed letter on their sidewalls or pay a stiff tariff fee. Those manufacturers can opt to use the load index system followed with a speed letter or have the actual speed restriction molded into the tire's sidewall.

Note: The speed letter "L" is for 75 MPH. There is no speed letter for 65 MPH.

Yup, found a chart with what you say. A different site had a chart with the L & 65mph rating, likely a typo. Good, cause I was running 70-75 mph at times on the tow home
