At the end of day my questions was around experience with the West Lake Tires and why they might be inflated to above the stated max air pressure. Not sure we ever really answered that. Some gave great opinions on the matter, but ultimately the right thing is to never exceed the max rated amount.

Yesterday I set them at 50psi and I hope the tires give a good useful life.

I would guess that whoever assembled and serviced them made the error. Then it was compounded when they were installed and not set to the recommended tire pressure found on the trailers tire placard. I doubt they- the tires - are damaged from the over inflation.

Actually I answered it a while back. They're over inflated slightly to prevent flat spots during storage. They sit in the same place for months, a little extra pressure helps prevent the flat spots. Plus it gives some cushion from air loss during storage.
