What air compressor to get for inflating up to 50 psi?

have you ever used this on a high pressure tire?

My experience with these type compresors is they are only good to around 40 psi. they just don't develop enough pressure to fill up a heavier tire.

My truck runs 65 psi, the trailer 75.

I bought this one about a year ago and love it. It produces 120psi and air my 19.5 inch 90psi tires with no problem. It is 110vac.

I tried something like this from Costco/BJs. My first problem was that I couldn't use it for the inner dual tire on the truck. The second problem was jeep said- it just couldn't push the tire pressure needed for the tires.

I ended up buying this:

I throw it into the basement of the fiver. I'm SOL if I'm on the road and need it, but it works when I'm at home and at campgrounds w/ electricity.

I'm jealous of the Viair onboard systems.

My tires run 80psi on truck and trailer. Have no problem bringing either up to pressure. Would not want to fill entire tire though.

I did a post with pictures of what I did on my Wildcat to provide 12v exterior outlets so I could use my 12v air compressor to inflate tires and use my 12v impact wrench to remove them when changing them on the road. That is good to know. Perhaps this unit is a bit heavier duty than the ones I have seen/tried in the past.

Good stuff. Yours is definitely heavier duty than mine, then. Mine struggled with 65-70psi in my truck tires.

But, I also just re-read the OP's subject line and they're only looking for 50psi. Seems like it could be a decent choice for them.

I carry a pancake compressor and plug into the external outlet of the TT if shore power is available or in a pinch fire up my inverter generator to use the 110v outlet.

Just for variety here's what I use. I carry one in my work truck and one in personal TV. I have had the one in the work truck for several years and use it probably a couple times a month when I pick up a trailer with a low tire.
They are a little cheaper on Amazon but this link has more info. They're small and self contained. I also carry a plug kit in both pickups.

Hey OldCoot, does the Kobalr compressor work well for your TT/5er tires? I hava TT and have been looking at this little guy. I read a bunch of reviews that say it doesn't quite pack enough punch to get high pressure tires up to the required psi. Just curious, thanks!

How well do the cordless drill inflators work? Since I carry a Craftsman 19.2v drill and batteries their inflator looks like a good option.... if it works.

I'm not OldCoot, but I have one of these as well. Works fine on all of my tires. Slow, but you can program it and walk away. It'll shut itself off when the programmed pressure is reached.
