wheel oxidation help

I have a 2014 Flagstaff 26' RLWS. MY WHEELS ARE OXIDIZING UNDER THE CLEAR COAT OVER IT. WHO DO I CONTACT?

Generally aluminum does not oxidize under a clear coat.

The clear coat may deteriorate and cause this problem. The only way to fix is remove the clear coat and polish the aluminum. I polish lots of "old" aluminum primarily for restoration of vintage motorcycles.

If you are looking for warranty help from a dealer I am not sure they will do anything.

Worst case, take advantage and buy some you like even more. Those wheels usually are $80 to $100 a piece, so nothing that'll break the bank. I've removed the clear coat on some once before, then it becomes a chore to keep them polished. Not 100% sure, but I'd bet the wheels came from Tredit (www.tredittire.com). They seem to supply a ton of the wheels for several manufacturers. Might be worth a shot to contact Rockwood / Flagstaff and find out who the supplier is. Tredit or the wheel manufacturer will probably be the only one that would help, maybe.

If its still under warranty, check with your dealer first. In our paperwork there was a little tiny card with warranty info for a company called Lionshead Specialty Wheel & Tire. They are FR's supplier - they import tires and wheels. There was phone number for warranty claims. I would try the dealer first though.
