Wheel PSI Rating?

OK, maybe someone can answer a question for me.

Our 5th wheel is a 2013 Wildcat 353LS, I am getting ready to replace the tires on it all the way around. I am giving very strong thought of moving from an E rated tire up to an F or G rating.

Current tires are 235/80-16 weight rated at 85PSI. Going up to 235/85-16 tires in an F or G rating would set the PSI rating at 110PSI.

I have pulled a wheel in the past and checked on the back side of the rim as well as removed the tire looking for a MAX PSI Rating on the factory wheels with out any luck of locating the magic number needed.

I am going to try to post a photo of the wheels and maybe, just maybe someone here has come across the information that I am looking for in the past. If you have any information that would be of help I greatly appreciate your assistance.

I do also understand the need to change to a higher PSI valve stem.

Your rims don't appear to be (Hi-Spec Rims by HWT) most F/R come with Hi-Spec. In order to have (110 PSI) spec.from HWT you would have to go with (16x6HD) (8lug) (110psi) Rims. They don't list a (6lug 110PSI)rim. Youroo!!

The 235/80R16 tires are rated for 3420 lb at 80 psi aren't they. They're mounted on 6000 lb axles and would therefore be well over that rating. The camper has a fairly high CCC...I'd doubt that you'd have an actual axle weight over 11000 total. The upgrade isn't required IMO...save your money.

I agree that the F or G rated tires would be over kill. But, then the added safety margin would sure make me feel better.

I guess all the negative talk on ST E-rated tires has me on the defense.

My stock OEM tires are only rated to around 62MPH, which while not being a speed demon, I do want to maintain the flow of traffic rather than become a road hazard to others around me.

I am still about a hair away from going with LT tires which don't have the weight rating of ST tires, not the sidewall strength per many articles. But, past experience has shown that they are more than capable of the task I would be asking of them.

Maybe I should focus on a 235/80-16 E-rated ST tire with a higher speed rating and call it a day. All the ST tires are imports now, reliability and durability all seem to be dependent on the batch of tires manufactured at any given time so it looks to be a crap shoot.

I do know that my wheels are only rated at I believe it was 3,200 pounds per wheel. Given that I have 6K axles the wheels are rated correct.

I do greatly appreciate the impute you share. I am simply looking for an enjoyable RV experience that is safe for my family and those around me.
