Wheel Weight surprise

I pulled the four wheels today to have them balanced because I installed a TPMS and felt the added weight of the senders it wold be best to rebalance the wheels. To my surprise not a single wheel had any wheel weights on them, I would have thought the factory would have balanced them. I did find a broken brake wire so that was good and found my floor jack won't work with this trailer so I bought a 12T bottle jack.

It's not uncommon at all for them to not balance trailer tires. I think they should always be balanced, but they rarely are. I always have all my trailer tires balanced after I get them, even boat and utility trailer tires.

Very common to not balance trailer tires. I worked in tire shops when I was younger and many times they would come in with no weights. I would always balance them especially new. I had my new maxxis balanced. I believe it can effect the way the tire will wear. But coming from the factory yeah I'm sure they don't have a tire balance machine even there.

It never registered with me before but by gar, you're right. No weights on any of the wheels of the trailers we've owned.

I do believe I'll go to a tire shop for my next set, and will have them balanced there.

Most manufacturers (at least mine does) order wheel & tire combinations from a supplier in bulk for a model run. I guess, to save money, they get them not balanced.
