which tire pressure?

was told by the Goodyear dealer to set the pressure at 55 PSI.
the weight of the trailer averages 8000 lbs. (had it weighed) which is why he suggested 55 PSI. does this sound correct?
the chart is from Goodyears website.
tire size: 225/75R15 LR D Marathons

Sounds right. Is 8000 the total trailer weight (including tongue weight) or is it the weight on the axles? If it is the axle weight then that would be 2000 per tire which only needs 45 PSI, but the weight of a trailer is very rarely evenly distributed on all the tires, so you most likely have one or two tires carrying more of the weight. At 55 PSI the tires can each support 2270. That should work.

That is the pressure I run on my Goodyear tires as well.
