Wiring into hub brakes

Was checking underneath for road damage and spotted a wire hanging. Where 3 wires are joined into some sort of connector, one was pulled out. I can not figure out how to open this connector to see how the wires are mated. Anybody ever opened one of these ??? Thanks Larry

Usually one time use, but I have pried the top off, pulled the metal cutters back up to reuse in an emergency road repair, but replaced once home.

Never seen a connector like that one. If they connected the brake wire from the TV to each wheel's hot brake wire, you'd have 3 wires, so it makes some sense.

Same for the ground if they tied the two wheel's ground wires to a 3rd that ran to ground somewhere. However, on my Roo, the two grounds had ring connectors which both went to a single screw onto the frame, there wasn't a separate ground wire back to the 7-pin. I haven't really checked out my Mini Lite, but I'd guess it's the same.

If you're handy, you could always solder the 3 wires together.

Something like this might do the job for you:

Plan to replace them with better connectors. How did you get it separated ???
Just rip the white part up or does it separate from the middle portion .
thanks Larry

I had to cut out those connectors when I replaced the brake magnets. They will come apart if you're lucky, but I'm pretty sure they're intended as a one-time use.
