XLR 29HFS axles are wrong

Something still doesn't add up? the brocure for my 2015 29HFS says that the "shipping weight" (dry weight ?) is 6968 and the cargo capacity is 4017. 6968+4017=10985 GVW 10985/2= 5492.5 or 5500# axles. I have 4400# axles from the factory and they have agreed to give me new 5200# axles, shipped and on the way.

If I take the new 5200# axles I get 10400 GVW or 10400-6968= 3432# payload still short of the 4017# advertised, but better than the 2700 sticker on the trailer. By the way 4400*2= 8800 or 8800-6968= 1832 # of payload, way off the 4017 promised and 2700# sticker and the cargo sticker that says max 2000 in the garage alone.

I need to go weigh my unit and see if its less than the 6968 in the brocure. That could account for some weight. But FR is dangeriously low on their cargo capacity at 1832. The online brocure changed the weight down to 6759 but paylaod is now listed as 3017#. Am I off somewhere on my calculations? The tires are load rated for 2485, 2485*4= 9940, below the 10,400 with my new axles. Off to buy new tires?

I am glad that they changed the axles out without any fuss. But .... I didn't know I had to recheck their math. I noticed it when I was cleaning the unit and read the yellow weight sticker saying I had 2700# payload available, I knew right away and Wolfwhistle confirmed my fears that something is wrong. Where to now? What tires should I get?

Dont forget that there is some tongue weight. Usually 10% to 15%.

Personally I think the manufactures are spec'ing the undercarriage hardware (axle, rims, tires) way to close for my comfort. For example I have 3500 lb axles but my trailer weighs 6508 lbs naked and with a 1104 lb load capacity, that is way to close for my liking. Tires and rims that have ratings of 1820 lb ratings with GVWR (7650 lbs) that takes it 5% above the capacity of the undercarriage hardware. Why do we as consumers stand for it? After all these trailers cost as much as a new car and they are not being held to the standards we expect from the car industry. Why???

Forgot the tongue weight that explains the walk from 1832 to 2700 on the sticker. Not the tires though.

All to save a nickel. I wonder how much they saved after calculating in the new axles, shipping, and labor to replace them, let alone the goodwill they are losing... Idiots.
