3250RL Quality and Longevity

Hello Cardinal Fifth Wheel Owners! My wife and I are close to purchasing a Cardinal 3250RL and would like to get your opinion and advice. We are down to two Fifth Wheels and leaning towards the 3250RL. The first thing we want to know is the overall quality of The 3250RL and Cardinals Fifth Wheels in general. Would you consider this a higher end unit or even luxury Fifth Wheel? Next up is Longevity of the 3250RL. How do these units hold up? Do people full time in this size Fifth Wheel? When spending this kind of money I would hope it is built to last.

The Fifth Wheel we are looking at is outfitted as follows:

2017 3250RL
Full Body Paint - Mocha Pearl
Sangria Interior Color
Deluxe Pillow Top Mattress
Theater Seats
Stainless steel appliance package w/convection microwave
Washer and Dryer
Slide out awnings
Low Profile A/C 13,500 BTU in bedroom
Heat Pump Air For 15,000 BTU A/C
Geny Prep
Auto Level Up
Bike Hitch
Exterior Entertainment Center
Moreride Steps

I know this is a long first post and I am very thankful for any response.

Hi there, we've had our 2017 3850RL for about a year now same paint scheme as yours. We feel its a well made unit, although factory build quality has been disappointing. We've had a lot of fit and finish issues, which is fairly normal for any RV these days, but are working through them.

One thing I'd recommend, is buy the extra year of factory warranty for the $250. My dealer "forgot" to mention it. I'm fighting with them now to get it added since it has to be purchased within 90-days of the sale. They were all about selling me the several thousand dollar multi-year warranty however.

My wife and I are also getting ready to order the 3250RL, one option you really might want to consider is the Hydraulic disc brake option. Not only do you get the disc brakes you upgrade to the 7K axles and a 12 I beam instead of a 10 inch I beam. It is a heavy 5er. Good luck

We purchased our 3250RLS last April, we really like the trailer & floor plan, how ever, quality control is lacking and that seems to be the industry standard now days. We are part time full time, we have a couple of issues that have not been resolved, one is the black water tank holds only 32 gallons, Forest River would not authorize the dealer to work on an issue that is based on what I found so I negotiated with FR and will pay the dealer to determine if the tank is in fact full at 32 gallons. If I am right, FR will pay, if I am wrong, I will pay. Not the best case scenario but I know I measured correctly. The black water flush leaks, known problem with the FR products but the dealer said it could not duplicate the problem, on going so I believe it will get fixed by FR. Overall we are happy with our Cardinal, stuff happens, I think the dealer you buy from is the key. My tow vehicle is a 2016 Ram 4x4 long bed 3500 with the Asin transmission, hardly know the Cardinal is back there. Good luck with your new rig, what ever you decide on.

we have a 2015 cardinal and overall we are pleased. I would consider it a high end unit but perhaps not luxury. we lived in it full time for 8 months during a long trip. there have been what appear to be normal issues with some trim pieces coming loose, etc. one of the pulleys for the slide out cables pulled out of the wall. but the equipment installed in the trailer seems to be higher end equipment. really like the level up legs!

We have a 2005 Cardinal 30 LE and are very pleased with the unit.. Purchased it used from a mechanical engineer that had taken very good care of it.

Cardinal 3250RL order...

We have a 2006 Cardinal...thing I miss most (from our previous rv) is the dual pane windows. ....if you out during the winter months without them, you'll forever be wiping the windows dry....next trailer shall have them and the disc brakes. We've been pleased with our trailer's durability.
