3825 driver side couch

Any one have any info on this couch to bed? It’s an enigma to set up. I feel I’m missing a piece. I purchased the coach used. It’s a 2015. Even if someone can direct me to a place/website to see what parts are included.

There is a weird piece that in ours is covered w black material. It is not attached to anything but stores behind the couch. If a piece is missing, that is the one I’d expect. If you like, I can take a picture later.

we have a 2015 cardinal model 3825. the two couches are different. the passenger side on folds out pretty simply. the drivers side is a bit more of an effort. take the cushions off and look at the back of the couch. there is a pad that slides over the metal frame. look at the top corners of the metal frame. you should be able to put you hands under the slide of pad and pull it off the frame. now once you do this that metal frame slides rotates down. i think you have to pull the seat up first and rotate it to the front to get it out of the way. if i remember (not at trailer) take the cushions off, rotate the seat to the front, take the back pad off, and then rotate the back down to where the seat was.

enjoy the trailer. we sure like ours!

Thank you. It just seemed to not be right. There is a gap in the middle. Do you put the 3 back rest pads in the middle gap? If so it’s uneven when you do do that and those move around as well.

i'm not at the trailer so i'm saying from memory. that drivers side couch folds out into three sections. you use the slip on pad that you took off the back to pad one section, the three big back cushions for another, and i think the seat cushions become the third.

yes if is not level. but it works for the grandkids.

Ok. Thank you. That answers my question then. I’m not missing anything. It’s just a poor design. Yes it’s a trifold and my 13 yr old did fine on it. I’m just trying to figure it out if I have friends stay with us. It won’t be a very comfortable sleep for adults. Thanks again.

That can be a great thing. We have a 41' 5er the literature states sleeps 6. I'm certain it only sleeps 2 and a little dog. Last thing I want while on the road is sleep overs. There are nearly always motels nearby.

The black cushion is the one I was talking about. It goes in the middle. Then the cushion that slides off the frame goes at the top. The back cushions go in the crack to make kind of a headboard. I put a memory foam on it for adult visitors. Grandkids sleep fine without it. We’ve had nine in there a couple of times. The other bed is smaller but easier to deal with.

Picture uploaded sideways.

I’m missing that black cushion. Do you have any idea who makes it? I have looked everywhere. The only brand name I see on the couch is Patrick industries but they own several companies.

It would be easy to replace I think. It’s just a rectangle of firm foam covered in black material. Maybe Forest River could help with a replacement? Let me know if you need me to go measure it so you’ll know the size.

It’s just stored between the wall and the back of the sofa.

Mine is definitely not there. Not sure why that would ever come out of the coach.
