I spoke to the factory rep at the Pomona rv show. He said the 2016 cardinals were equip with a G rated rim. Therefore when the marathons wear out you can go up to the G rated tires

I have a 2014 cardinal 3850. Purchased at Pomona. Came with Goodyear marathon tires. Had 2 blowouts. The second one caused severe damage with less than 8000 miles on them. Yes my rims are rated for G rated tire. Don't wait too long to replace them. I just did with the G614 Goodyear. Made in the USA right on the tire. Good luck. Greg

Marathons don't wear out...they blow out.

I concur with the above opinions got rid of mine at 5000 miles. Put Lt xpsrib on about 280 each. 11000 miles later still look great !

This thread started on Aug. 19th-the following Monday I blew out one of these famous Marathon tires and replaced all of them with GY G614 tires. The tire dealer couldn't find one of the remaining three Marathon tires that was good enough to use as a spare. Just as well I guess.

The minimum rim size for the Goodyear G614 tires is 16x6.5

If GY wont sign-off and allow the use of 16x6 rims only the vehicle manufacturer can trump them. I doubt that FR would do that.
