Access to tank valves
Have problems with all waste tank valves and need to access them.
Would like to lift the storage floor and access from above, rather than peel the sheathing back underneath.
Has anyone done this, or seen this done ?
Any help appreciated.

i have a model 3825 cardinal. please update any results you find! to me it looks like a big pain to peel back that entire underbelly sheathing without ripping or cutting it. what I would like to know is how the valves are oriented with relation to the tank. is the tank drain hole located on the side of the tank so that the valve is installed in a vertical manner at the side of the tank, or is the tank drain hole in the bottom of the tank and the valve oriented in a horizontal manner beneath the tank? please provide any updates you get. thanks

Mine is a 37rx (05)
Im guessing the valves for both grey tanks are on the tank ends.
they are pull-outs in the storage area, about 1 foot apart.
Black tank valve is set at the end of a run, close to the front wheels

Although I don't know what unit you have ... on any unit I know of, it would be way more trouble to remove the flooring than go at it from the belly pan. The valves are right down against the belly pan anyways. The valves are horizontal near the bottom of the tank exiting out the side. No holding tank I'm familiar with has the drain port coming out the bottom ... fresh water tanks are in the bottom. On my Silverback ... the black tank is in front and has the 3" drain port street side on the front of the tank. The grey tank is to the rear of the black tank and has the 1.5" drain port street side on the rear of the tank. Most any dealer tech jut cuts the belly pan material, does what needs done, and tapes the flap back up or screws a patch over the area. If the valve is simply leaking, you don't ahve to glue a new assembly in ... just remove 4 screws and change out the blade assembly. Flush tank very well before you start work!!

Sailrguy...not sure what kind of problem you are having, but on my Cardinal 32, the black tank is not draining when I pull the valve open. Tried putting back water pressure on the tank, but nothing happened. Need to access the tank from underneath this Labor Day weekend by cutting the sheet metal underneath and removing the insulation to check that the valve is functioning correctly. If it is, then I somehow have to unclog the tank train with a snake.

Colorado S ... assuming your valve is operating as it should ... I might put forth this info. Never sit on a full hookup site with your black tank drain valve open. You will defintely build the dreaded pyramid as all the liquids will flow on out and not help break down the solids. You will get used to telling when it's time to open the valve, then close it up till the next time.

Looks like underbelly sheathing comes off regardless.
Will report back with pics when done and maybe help others to do the same.

The tech at the 2015 rally that worked on my tank said the tape you refer is $100 a roll. He found out how expensive it was last year when he gave a roll to a rally attendee. His boss wasn't too happy with him. Oops

I've removed most of the underbelly on my sabre to gain access to a grey tank leak. It was easy to find and repair once the underbelly was removed. I bought 10ft of that tape from my dealer for 0.89 per foot. Expensive but worth it and you don't need a whole lot

My black water pull handle broke off and has anybody had to change the cable and if so how did you do it?
