Adding Trailer Hitch to 2010 3625RT

As anyone added a hitch to a 39' 5th wheel? I'd like to add a carrier. Is so, estimated cost?

There are tons of threads on this subject. It depends on the TT as to whether it is OK to mount a trailer hitch for this type of carrier. Most of the time, esp on newer and/or 'lite' models, the the bumpers aren't made to carry more than the weight of the spare tire, and adding any type of cargo carrier/hitch etc will void the warranty.

However, there are folks who have done this - some by adding additional welds/supports to the bumper, etc. Do a search for cargo carrier or bumper hitch and you'll find a lot of threads...

When I was purchasing my 5th wheel this summer, I asked the salesman what it would cost to mount a 2-inch receiver hitch on the rear of my trailer. He quoted $700. I decided to wait. Two weeks later, while I was at the dealer I was talking to the service manager, he stated that he would mount the receiver hitch for $399 which included providing a wiring harness. I asked him if he had time & a couple of hours later, I had a hitch both bolted and welded to the frame. Looks like he did a great job and I saved a few bucks waiting.

Thanks all. Hearing the posts about costs and having one already installed nailed it for me. I'm getting one installed.

It's a forest river oem mounted rack on my palomino sabre.

It's not mounted on the bumper but rather the frame but when down it rests on the bumper.
