Would consider shocks first.

Air bags will not soften or dampen the impact of the road. But, as always, it's your trailer and you can do as you please.

Look at TrailAir pin boxes. Make a HUGE difference.

Those are for chucking in the truck. I put shocks on the trailer and eliminated both the chucking, dolphining and the rough ride in the trailer and I have torsion trailer suspension.
Like I said, it's your trailer.

Just relating my experience with about 40k-50k on mine.

Are you talking about relaxing the springs with an air ride suspension?

I have no idea if they would really help with your issue, but Dexter definitely sells the Airflex system.

You would need to talk to them about your issue and a local shop to have them installed.

I'm with OC on this one. I'd look for shocks for the trailer before airbags. I've actually been contemplating the JoyRider system, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

How old is your Cardinal? All the Cardinal's made in the last couple years have the MOR/ryde 3000 Suspension System & MOR/ryde 18K Extended Pin Box. Not sure you CAN put air bags on that.

What kind of tires are you using? May want to consider upgrading to a Load Rating E Goodyear Marathon.

I would do a weight check and make sure you are towing level. I know first hand towing high in the from resulted in the trailer riding rough more on the rear axle as opposed to both. Not to mention overloading the rear axle.
Allow us to help you and provide a little more information on the issues inside the trailer, damage etc.
