This might be a good addition for those that use your RV a lot. It cost a bit, but I can see that it would be a connivence. It is a add-on electric heater which attaches between the propane furnace and the ducts, controlled by the existing thermostat. The add-on provides the heat when the unit is switched to electric. So no propane use except for cooking, and hot water. It is not available to private parties, RV dealers only.

$850.00 plus dealer mark-up, plus 5 hours installation equals a lot of propane IMHO.

I agree it would cover the cost of a lot of propane, but still if you use your RV lots it might be a nice addition. I'm thinking about it, we use ours 3-5 months each year.

I think I would consider a space heater. Another issue I can see is you probably will for sure be using at LEAST 1500 watts. Will your current electricity system work? Plus I have been kinda sold on those Eden Pure. Which cost about 297 dollars and heat up to 1500 sq ft.

I installed Envi High-Efficiency Whole Room Electric Panel Heater - White (Model # HH1000) - eheat.com in the master bedroom on the wall. It provides PLENTY of heat in the almost UNHEATED area above the kingpin.

It pulls only 450 watts at full power and is one of the best improvements we made to the camper.

The Envi looks great. Going to order one for our rv bedroom.

We use a small portable space heater, and usually on the lowest setting. We put it down in the living area out of the way, and the heat just naturally rises into the bedroom. Inexpensive and effective.

We never realized the shortcoming of the heat distribution in our floorplan until we had guests stay in the living room. When we closed the hall curtain and the pocket door to the bathroom, there were NO heat registers in the bedroom (one in the hall floor and one in the bathroom floor).

While our guests were overly warm and toasty with the propane heat and the electric fireplace heater, we froze our butts off. Problem since solved with the Envi heater (at least on full hookups anyway). We may have to limit our "dry camping" friends to VERY close friends only.
