Electrical question about my Cardinal 37RL

The tank heater switch does not light when turned on/closed. Does this mean the heaters are not working or just that the light in the switch is burned out? I looked at the fuses and all appear to be good. Advise would be greatly appreciated. It's been 20F at night.

The only way I would be able to tell is to use a tester and see if there is power at the switch (volts) and amps being drawn through it. If you don't have an voltmeter/ammeter you will likely have to get someone with one to test it for you.

The switch could be burned out, or the element could be burned out or there could be an open connection.

If you have a meter that doesn't have an clamp for amperage and can get at the tank heater you can check for voltage there at the heater. then shut it off and check ohms across the heater.

The bastads put the pigtail for the inline fuse going to my tank heaters BEHIND the power center under the fridge. One leg hooks up to the same lug as the +12 volt battery wire then routes behind the unit where the fuse holder is located.

If you get no 12 volts at the switch I would next look there.
