Exterior microwave/stove vent on 2015 Cardinal 3850

Has anyone changed microwave/stove vent from recirculating to exterior on a 2015 Cardinal 3850? And how you successfully completed.

Cut a hole, mount a vent to the outside, reset the fan, remount the microwave, DONE!

We don't do enough long cooking to justify this for us in my mind. One more hole on the outside to leak, or have the vent eventually deteriorate. With residential fridge, no vents for that either.
