Furniture falling apart

Hi all we have a 2015 forest river cardinal 3450rl. We bought new in 2015. Not real heavy campers. Maybe 3 weeks a year, until March 2018 we went fulltime stationery until we retire. Issue, love seat started falling apart, just completely peeling. Have had issues with this model from heater ducts not being hooked up to tank cables breaking, tires blowing etc. but the furniture is absolutely terrible. Dog is brand new he didn’t do it. Anyone else have the same issues?

Furniture falling apart

We have the same issue with our 2015 Wildcat. I suspect we have no recourse with FR.

Typical example of using cheapest things to make them more money in the end. Don’t buy RV furniture when replacing yours. Go to furniture store and you’ll be much happier.

Our 2013 had actual Lazy-Boy recliners. The Wildcat has cheap pieces of crap.

Peeling of bonded leather products is prevalent in the home furniture industry as well. I replaced many sofa the last few years that I sold and developed cracking and peeling. Most manufactures are using polyurethanes now

FRsold me new cut and sewn covers for the used unit I purchased. $700 and about 8 hours of my time to reupholster both captains chairs, dinette, and sofa

Give them a call be nice and they might help out. They sold me the covers at their cost. They are aware of the problem. Sad thing is generally the fabric manufacturer rarely warranties against racking and peeling because there are so many consumer causes for fabric failure. I’m not making excuses for them but things such as temperature and humidity all affect the durability if fabric, especially the bonded products.

My 13 has all original furniture. Leather . The fabric on the dining seats is still in good shape. Got about 18 months worth of camping in it. No issues. I would say the furniture vendor cheaped out and now you get crap. For more 💰.

This is not a Forest River issue exclusively...

I know several people with SOB's from the same era that are having the same problems with their 'leather' RV furniture.

I suspect that the furniture maker had a bad run of cheap pleather!
