Heatpump

The cruisair freezes up when outside air gets below 40. Is there a device that would switch it to gas furnace when temp drops

On my thermostat I can choose between air, fan, heat pump or furnace. Not sure why no one has replied to you. I don't get on here very often. Most people don't use heat pump below 50 degrees(not very efficient).

Ours works good to 40. Would just be nice if it would auto switch to gas furnace when temps drop below 40 degrees. It takes a lot of propane to heat. We stay in our 5th wheel all winter and on our boat other seasons here in Virginia on the Potomac river

Check with heating and air personnel, I'm sure something is available but it wouldn't be cheap. I take it that your not around to choose between the two?

I think mine are Atwoods. They do automatically switch when they can't hold the temp.
