Need some advice re: generator

I have a Honda 3000 generator. When I use it how far should I place it from from my fifth wheel?

Well, nice question. Answer, how much cord do you have, and how much do you want to make the neighbors MAD. As for noise, as far away as you can get it. Be nice, and don't put it near your neighbor's site.

If you are worried about fumes or smell, no problem, As long as you don't smell it inside the RV.

why are you asking? are you concerned with noise, exhaust, safety, theft or what?

as far as noise, if it's the inverter 3000, it's the quietest gas powered gennie that i know of.

I have the 3000 and I cable it to the rear bumper. Noise is never a issue as it is quiet. I just don't need it growing legs on me.

It is very quiet and easy to operate. I was concerned about carbon monoxide entering the fifth wheel. Is there a minimum distance one should keep the generator from the RV?

i would just put the exhaust facing away and the length of your shore cord should be plenty distance away.

I keep our Honda chained in the box of the truck and the truck sits where ever there is room on the site as I have the factory 25ft and a 50 extension. IMO it does not matter where you put the genny as breezes will change everything in a heartbeat anyway. Well OK common sense says not to put it right by a window though.

My Yamaha 3000 is chained in the truck bed as well. I have a 50 foot extension cord I keep with the generator and just hook up and disconnect when I need to use the truck. Should never run the generator when you are not there anyway. I built a waterproof fabric covered box around it. It is a bit of a pain to remove when I need to service it, but I only do that once a year in the driveway at home.

Why Lou's Truck weighs 7800 pounds unhitched.

Very nice job there Lou. ANd it is just a bit apparent as to why you weigh in like that.

You should see the inside. Air compressor; dog; dogs toys;

The material is all Velcro'ed on to an aluminum frame. I found the contact cement I used did not hold very well so I pop riveted it in strategic places.

The door flips up so I can run it in the rain without the generator shorting out.
