New To The Forum

We have a 2008 30TS that we bought new. We've been RVing in motor homes for 11 years but this is our first 5th wheel. This is our third winter season using our Bird and travel 3-5 months each winter. I estimate that we have about 15-to 18,000 miles on our rig.

Our Cardinal is a great rig, we have had good luck with it and for the price I'm impressed with the quality. The only issue we had where with the tires, which we replaced. Not that we had any problems with them but after reading all the post about Chinese tires we just replaced them, not sure now if it was a good idea or not.

Because we are new to this forum I just wanted to say how much we like our Cardinal.

Welcome Jim and Jane. Curious...what kind of tires did you have that you replaced? And what did you replace them with.

Nice looking rig by the way!

Our Bird (Cardinal) came with Kendas tires and we replaced them with Michelin XPS Ribs. Great tires, but as I mentioned we never had a problem with the Kendas. But I was always checking them and for piece of mind we just bought tires that were getting good marks on the different RV forums we're on.

Thanks Jim. I have something called "Trail Express" on mine. Don't even know who makes them yet. No information anywhere on them. They look nice, but then so do Carlisles! Anyway, appreciate the info.

I think that with all the heat that Forest River was getting on tires that they are using better tires. I know that the 09 Cardinals have better tires, ours is an 08

Check the National auto safety recall list. I know the 09 model tires and rims were recalled. It may also effect 08's. I have a 10 and the dealer was very impressed with the Goodyear tires and the motor home quality rims on it.

You may have money coming from FR

Mine is an 2010, and no, they're not Carlisle. At least I can find no affiliation to Carlisle.
