Just bought a 2005 Cardinal with 50 amp service. What kind and size generator should I get to run this rig. Has 2 ac's and my wife is on an oxygen machine.

You can get an Onan 5500 kw gen LP . On line for 3900 to 4000. You will also need a transfer switch and a remote start and an exhaust. That will run 2 ac plua your electrical. Geoogle up Rv Generators and tou will see a couple of co that sell all types shipping is free and if they are not in your state no sales tax. Wise is the name of one co. Hope that helps.

I second the 5500. But from what I have read on here And other sites, a lot of folks seem to prefer the gas version. Jerry.

Well l guess if you want to haul gas cans around that would work . I think LP is a lot less hassle.

The only reason folks prefer the gas version is because the LP generators go through a lot of propane. I personally have no experience with LP generators. That is just what folks say who have them. They were surprised at how much propane they went through. Jerry.

I have read the same thing, "LP generators are a gas hog" type comments.

Not sure if it is real or not because of the limited LP some units pack.
