Assume you hooked up TV and turned on parking lights. If that does not work sometimes they get miswired to an interior light from what I have seen in forums.

Did you plug into the TV and power on your parking lights or headlights? That's where our camera gets it power from.

There should be a blue light on the camera if powered. What does the monitor do?
May need to turn on lights inside the trailer to see if it turns on. They get wired incorrectly to inside lights sometimes.

Powered up Truck lights, inside lights still nothing.
Guess the power wire is wired to nothing,
Had same problem with pre
wired satellite system, cable was broken to living room TV

I assume when your truck lights are on, you could see your fiver outside running lights lit? If yes, then it has to be either a bad pairing or wire issue. You might also call the manufacturer of the camera for trouble shoot. Sometimes it is something simple.
But, I feel your pain re factory wiring. Had a fan that was wired circular and was not powering plus a same television sattelite port not wired tightly enough to make a good connection.

Me again: FYI; my truck has 2 plug port connectors for the fiver. I had to replace the one I was using as it had a broken piece within it. It appeared to be functioning, but not for accessories.

May be easier to wire it directly to the clearance light right by it than to debug where the wire is connected to.
On mine the manual states it runs all the way to the junction box where the trailer wiring comes in. Not sure if that is the case because mine worked with the parking lights on so I never checked.

Found the problem. Wiring on trailer was reversed and is hooked up to taillights.
Thanks a lot everyone
