Picking up new fifth have tire question e vs g rated

We are picking up our new 2016 3825fl this week and after seeing the recall for the tire inflation placard and reading that the 3825 should have G rated tires I think the one I'm getting has E rated Marathon.
Having a sob 5th with a 15500 gvwr that came with g rated from the factory I think the e rated are not quite enough tire for the units weight.
Placard on the new trailer indicates E rated tires with de rated 7000 axles.
Thinking that I may ask dealer to swap my G rated for the E as they are the same bolt pattern and rim size. Tires on my sob are 4 months old. They are Sailun s637 14 ply weight indicated on tire is 4085.
I understand the whole 25% on the pin so the tires are not carrying all the weight concept. I feel that it is better to have more capacity and not need it than need it and not have it. Takes a lot of the blow out factor away.
Would go to 17.5 but budget took a hit with new truck and 5er.
Anyone else purchase this model that came with e rated tires?

Sorry, I don't own this brand 5th wheel. I do, however, totally agree with you on switching the E rated tires out for your G rated ones. I, like you, believe a bit more margin on anything I 'm pulling down the road at 60-65 mph is a good thing.

Margin is a good thing on a 5er with a starting weight over 14000 lbs and a gvwr over 17000 lb. I think maybe FR overlooked something here.
Love the 5er but does me no good if I can't feel safe going down the highway. We tow approximately 15,000 miles a year.
I see 17.5 wheels and tires in my future very soon budget concerns or not.

Swap to your Gs. Always good to have too much then not enough.

Swapping the 4-mo. old Sailuns is a no-brainer IMHO.

Thanks,
Just trying to do it right. DW is obsessive with the tire factor.

I agree with all of the above. I had a 15,800 GVWR fiver and was overloading 1 tire and 2 others with "E" tires. If you already own the G wheels/tires, I'd swap for them in a heartbeat.

Talked to service manager at dealership and he says no problem we'll swap em if they fit. So I keep my Sailuns and my old rims...
Whew... DW will be happy. She had a time getting someone to replace the original sailuns while in Mississippi. No one had ever heard of them and they wanted to replace with what they had in stock. Um... NO..
In the crew I travel and work with we have 5 with heavy ( over 15,500 gvwr) 5ers. All but one are running the Sailun s637 g. The other is running 17.5 Michelin xta.

Our Cedar Creek 38CK came with "G" rated Westlake. 4,080 lbs rated per tire. Next time to change tires I'll go to the Saliun tires.

Picked up new unit Wednesday. They swapped out our rims and tires and boy am I glad. Just looking at those E rated marathons on this big fellow gave me the shakes.
Dealer had never heard of the Sailun brand and two of the service guys asked for info on where I ordered them. They may be import tires but they sure are impressive.
Before the swap they couldn't understand why I was insisting on it. While doing the swap the one fellow removing the tire said Now THAT is a road tire.. Lol.. yep, they're heavy boys.... Once finished the marathons looked like clown car tires laying next to them.
So hopefully if those guys have heavy units they call Edon Ohio and order a set...
Walk through went well and we are now in campground. Now to find the little issues like Water pressure in bathroom sink is just about non existent and finding the local strongman to get my water filter canister OFF.
Thanks for everything...

You'll never regret ridding yourself of the Marathon tires! I should have done it sooner!

Wow, what a picture! Of all the places to save a dollar, tires are not one of them.

Leonandpandora ... Hats off to your wife and her concerns of protecting both of you.

Cardinal dealers can order the trailers with the Goodyear G614's now, but most won't since it costs them more money and they'd rather stick a shiny accessory on it as that is what most buyers will notice. You did the right thing swapping to your G tires and will be much happier going down the road.

Enjoy your new Cardinal, that floor plan is very nice.

You should have received a bag with all of your manuals and in that there should be a tool to loosen your water filter. It looks a bit like an oil filter removal tool. When you put it on just snug it up hand tight and check for leaks. As for low pressure in the sink, remove the screen at the faucet end and look for debris. It's not uncommon to have some plastic in the lines from construction.

My wife picked out the floor plan after walking through a million different models.( well it felt like a million anyway..) The tires were a sticking point as was the size of the bedroom. King bed takes most of it.
Very relieved to be rid of the E's. We'll run the G's for a while then make the decision on the 17.5 H rated.
I love my new cardinal. Small things to work out but seems to be a solid unit.

Also, when trying to remove... crack a faucet and relieve the pressure and then push up slightly on the canister (while loosening) to disengage the locking teeth.

When you get ready to make the jump to 17.5" wheels and tires, which is a good idea for the size and weight of your rig, check out www.trailertiresandwheels.com. It's a great site and specializes in 16" to 17.5" upgrades.

Post up pics when you can.

Checked the screen and no debris. Checked under the sink lines, no kinks. Tried the filter wrench last night after opening the faucet. No go. Tried a couple times actually. It's really stuck on there. Acts like it needs a cheater bar on it. Of course can't do that but it is stuck stuck stuck. I'll try it again today.
Thanks..
